This paper is focused on exploring how grammatical differences between Chinese and English have made an influence on the translation of classical Chinese poems. To put it exactly, three major differences between Chinese and English poems will be analyzed: firstly, different points of view, since subjects are often omitted in Chinese while there must have subjects in English; secondly, different concepts of time and space since there are no inflectional changes in Chinese while there must have inflectional changes in English; thirdly, compared with English, the Chinese language characteristic of parataxis can give poets much greater freedom in juxtaposing images and readers much more imagination.
