A Discussion on Chen Shubao and Other Royal Scholars

以武力起家建立陈国的吴兴长城陈氏家族，自陈霸先至末帝陈叔宝，不乏饱学艺文之士，尤以陈后主陈叔宝为代表，也包括一批宗室文人和后宫才女。陈叔宝的诗以宫廷游宴诗为主，在其数量较多的边塞诗中则不乏佳作。陈叔齐的《籁记》、陈叔达的《隋记》都是寄痛寓志之作。皇后沈婺华则堪称文学家。

As we know,Chen Baxian,who was born in Changcheng,Wuxing County,founded the Chen Dynasty by military force.Howev-er,by the last years of the dynasty,there had been quite a few clansmen who mastered art and literature in the Chens.Amongst the giftedmale and female seholars,Chen Shubao,the last emperor,was the representative.He specialized in writing the poems about the sightsee-ing and feasting in the royal family,and he was good at the poems about military affairs in the border areas as well.Besides him,the em-press Shen Wuhua,and the brothers of Chen Shuqi and Chen Shuda who wrote Lai Ji and Sui Ji respectively,were regarded as the littera-teurs in that times.
