The paper describes the selection of two important design parameters-tooth ta-per and cutter diameter. A proper selection of the two parameters would have significant-effectsonincreasinggearcuttingproducibility, improving performance and raising cutting-tool life.A concrete design method and calculation formula for determining the gear blank and tooth dimen-sions are also suggested.
