oThis paper mainly gave a general introduction about somatic cells counts (SCC), including its concept, effects, test methods and present applications. The factors affecting SCC and the methods controlling SCC were also discussed. It was suggested that the SCC in herds should be controlled for improving the quality and quantity of raw milk in our country.
