The artical discusses the operation characteristics and design principles of steady speed DC micromotor,and puts forth the fundamental criterion designing the motor on the basis of damping coefficient.The formulas of damping coefficient in relation with efficien- cy,armature winding data,electric-magnetic parameters and armature main sizes are derived in detail.High coefficiency can be obtained to use the formulas to design the motor.The specific design processes are concluded.
