Ferriere Nord Spooler line, installed at the existing bar mill, is the first worldwide industrial application of the Danieli Morgardshammar Spooling technology This innovative process, based on twist free winding of the hot rolled bar into highly compact/ultra heavy coils, grants safe cobble free un coiling when feeding the downstream cold processing lines making it possible to feed them with hot rolled coils coming directly from the rolling mill in their “as rolled” condition This means that traditional off line operations such as de coiling, stretching & re winding are no longer necessary Ferriere Nord Spooler line, in full industrial production since the end of 2002, is presented in this article
