“六经注我”与“我注六经”——从南怀瑾的古文今译再论学术编辑的职能定位

On the Academic Editor's Functions from Nan Huaijin's Translation of Ancient Chinese Prose

南怀瑾先生的古文今译,缺少一种最重要的因素,即以古人之心为心。故错逞私智望文生义以至“六经注我”之处,颇不乏见。从学术编辑的职能定位来看,所谓的“编辑加工整理”,即要求编辑必须行使对稿件的实然修改权,此乃学术编辑的“本职的天赋”。但修改的目的只有一条,那就是使稿件“内容更完善”。由是可见,所谓编辑人员的“学者化”,并非一种预设的远期目标,而是势不容缓的现实要求。任何来自“非学者化”的编辑的“无所作为”或“力不从心”,都必将对学术图书的出版生态带来极为不良的影响。

Nan Huaijin's translation of ancient Chinese prose is lack of the most important factor, that is, considering the ancients' hearts. So there are many errors and mistranslation words through taking them too literally. From the function of the editor, the so called edit is to require the editor to have the right to revise the manuscripts. The purpose of the revision is to have the contents more perfect. Therefore, the scholarized editor is the very urgent requirement rather than the long-term object. Any inertia or incompetence of the un-scholarized editor would bring forth the harmful influence on the academic publishing affairs.
