王小妮的散文 ,在朴素平实的外表下 ,却蕴含着一种在当今散文中少见的终极关怀精神 :对理想、道义的坚守 ,对人的尊严、个性的确认 ,对普通人苦难与不幸的宏大悲悯 ,以及对现代世俗生活的深刻置疑。她散文的题材域是宽阔的 ,但其内在精神却都可以归结到对人的关怀上来。用她自己的话来说就是 :“究竟什么是人 ,什么是人应有的家园 ?”与对人的理解相应的是她对诗的理解 :“活着之核就是诗的本质” ;“诗人就是最平常的人。”

Wang xiaoni's prose, though with a simple appearance, has a rare kind of spirit of utmost care: holding fast of ideal and moral principle, affirming of human's dignity and character, greatly sympathizing of common people's sufferings and unhappiness, and deeply suspecting of modern common life. The subject of her prose is wide, but its inner spirit can all be reduced to the care of human. Just as what she says 'What on earth is human? What on earth is human's ideal home?' Her understanding about poem is just like her understanding about human:'The foundation of life is poem's nature';'A poet is a most common man' Thus makes her poem full of poem's nature in both content and form.
