This paper is a review of the novel Oscar and Lucinda written by the famous Australian writer Peter Carey. In the novel Peter Carey rewrites about the 19th Australian history of colonialism——the adaptation of modernism, which is the questioning and deconstruction of traditional realistic novel and modernistic heroic mythology and expressed the writer's doubt and negation of modernist history of colonialism.
