熊十力是近代中国建立了自己哲学体系的哲学家。他的哲学体系以“体用不二”“翕辟成变”“反求自识”为纲纪,以人的本心即人的本真存在为本体,把重建中国的形而上学作为他的哲学的根本任务,以摆脱在西方文化强大冲击下中国文化的困境。他的哲学是一种新的“明体适用”之学。一方面追寻人的安身立命之本,另一方面讲求科学日用。熊十力哲学以深邃的内涵和严密的论证以及他在哲学上的创新,为海内外学人所重视,在当代有着巨大的价值和现代意义。

Xiong Shili, which establishes his own philosophical system, is a philosopher in modern times of China. The guiding principle of this system is ″the entity of substance and function″, ″assuming changes through closing and opening″, ″recognizing oneself by introspection″. The system holds human's original spirit as noumenon. Xiong Shili takes it as his philosophy's cardinal task to establish Chinese metaphisics, so that to extricate Chinese culture from a predicament of the strong shock of western culture. His philosophy is a new theory of ″unifying the substance and phenomenon″. On one hand, it's after the aim of settling down and getting on with one's pursuit while on the other hand, it stresses being scientific and daily using. Xiong Shili's philosophy is paid much attention to by domestic people and people from abroad due to its deep connotation, thorough demonstration and innovation on philosophy. There's enormous value and modern sense in Xiong Shili's philosophy currently.
