爱国主义是民族精神的核心。100年前,江孜抗英保卫战所体现的爱国主义精神是藏民族民族精神光辉灿烂的一页,也是我们今天维护民族团结、反对分裂的精神力量。这种爱国主义的民族精神历史性与时代性的有机统一,使我们在建设社会主义新西藏的进程中,能够确立马克思主义祖国观、民族观、宗教观、文化观,振奋民族精神,不断推动西藏政治、经济向前发展。

Patriotism is the core of the national spirit. 100 years ago, the spirit reflected in the defending war of anti-British is the significant Tibetan national spirit, and also our spiritual force of upholding the national unity as well as anti-splitting. The organic unity of this patriotic national spirit's historic and epoch sense enables us , in the process of building the socialist new Tibet, to establish Marxist nation view, race view, religion view and culture view, meanwhile to inspire the national spirit and continuously push Tibetan politics and economy forward.
