This article discusses the design and implementation of a vehicle navigation system,which is based on the joint technology of GPS,GIS and,GSM .The article includes the following issues:(1)The important actions of GPS,GIS and GSM in the VLNS,(2)The compose of the system and the functions it can fulfills.(3)The technique of GPS assistant orientation and the data update of GIS.
