在百年中国近代历史上 ,甲午战争和《马关条约》的签订是作为中华民族永远的耻辱印在每个炎黄子孙的记忆中的 ,这是不容更改的事实。但从中国现代化进程发展的角度来看 ,甲午战争作为中国早期政治现代化进程的起点 ,从各个方面 ,为中国早期政治现代化的发展准备了条件。

On the one hundred year's modern history of China, the Jiawu War and the sign of Maguan treaty were printed as permanent humiliation in every Chinese people's memory. This is a fact that cannot be changed. But as for the modernization developing of China, as the starting point of the early stage of political modernization of China, the Jiawu War prepared condition for the early stage of political moderation of China from every aspect.
