A Mythical World ——Interpretation of the Mythical prototypes in William Faulkner's novels

That William Faulkner borrows and adapts and revives those mythical prototypes in his novels not only deepens the theme but forms one of his unique artistic styles. First of all, he creates his own “Mythical Kingdom”—— Yoknapatawpha Saga; next, he borrows and uses lots of the mythical prototypes from the Bible to satirize the characters, society and surroundings, and to reveal the spiritual world of human being, man-to-man relationship, and interdependence of man and nature, which greatly enhances the artistic appeal of his novels.
