《外国文学研究》杂志自 1 978年 9月创刊迄今 ,一直努力促进国际莎学持续走向中国和中华莎学迅速走向世界 ,在介绍域外莎评的同时 ,经常组织、选发富有中国学者文化意识特性与东方视角的莎评 ,参与中西古今的“莎评对话” ,由此提供了莎学研究的一个中外交流平台。追溯中国学者研究莎士比亚的足迹 ,主要目的是为了牢固地把握与时俱进的莎学的求实创新的现在 ,更好地开拓中华莎学繁荣昌盛的未来。在这里 ,历时性的解说与共时性的评析相互交织 ,彼此关照。

Foreign Literature Studies takes every opportunity to promote international Shakespearian study and Shakespearian studies in China ,paying special attention to the communications between international Shakespearian experts and Chinese scholars. As a result, The Chinese Shakespearian studies is going towards the world rapidly since the first publication of the journal in September,1978. Besides providing space for introductions to overseas Shakespearian studies, Foreign Literature Studies also organizes and publishes articles with perspectives which reveal Chinese cultural consciousness and in connection with the Chinese cultural context. Thus the journal provides a forum for dialogue between Shakespearian scholars at home and abroad .
