Digital down converting has become one of the nucleus technology of software radio. STRATIX EP1S25 is a high-powered FPGA of ALTERA corporation. This paper describes the theory of digital down converting and its implementing method based on this chip. The method is validated by the test results. This will avoid using special hardware of digital down converter, make hardware simpler and increase the flexibility of system.
