A brief historic look back on the development of W-material industry before 80's is introduced, and the modern development of the industry is presented in detail. Since 1980, i. e. since China going to reforming and opening outward to the world, the Chinese W-material fabricating industry has developed quickly. Not only the industry capacity, the productivity and the assortment of W-material have got a significant development, but the product quality, the technique and the technology have been also increased to a new level. Nevertheless, there are still some problems in Chinese W-material industry, which are also discussed. The bright developing prospect of Chinese W-material in future is forecasted
