A New Species of the Genus Ovomermis (Nematoda :Mermithidae)

在厦门岛西南部菜地及田埂,采集到寄生于蝗虫的卵索线虫属一新种,命名为厦门卵索线虫新种Ovomermis xiamenensis sp.nov。

A species of mermithid nematode was found from the locust in Xiamen (24°25′N,118°06′E),Fujian province during 1988-1991. It is identified as a new species of the genus Ovomermis, and named O. xiamenensis sp. nov, Adult body elongate, six cephalic papillae arranged in one plane on the left and right sides; amphids medium, pear-shaped, situated dorsal to lateral cephalic papillae; a pair of cervical papillae formed by two tubes, slightly turning back. Body length: ♀ 312. 2(247. 5-421. 0) mm, ♂ 125. 5(85. 5 - 147. 0) mm) maximum width: ♀ 269. 4(238. 9-302. 0) μm, ♂ 228. 3(220. 3 - 236, 7) μm; Vulva slightly protroding, transverse fissure, located midregion vagina S-shaped, V% = 50. 94(45, 92-53. 70)%. Male tail length 188. 9(178. 6 - 194. 4) μm;spicules paired, length 138. 4 (133. 3-146. 8) μm;number of genital papillae 77. 2 (68- 96), arranged in irregular six rows. Egg round, slightly flat, 186×186×130 μm.
