A Comparison between Oda Takeo's Beyond the City Wall and Yu Dafu's In the Past

小田岳夫是日本私小说的重要作家 ,其作风既不同于尾崎一雄与川崎长太郎等 ,也不象伊藤整一派 ,更迥异于堀辰雄等 ,却明显相似于郁达夫的小说。其代表作“城外”曾获第三届芥川奖 ,它对郁氏“过去”的明显借鉴说明了“小田岳夫式私小说”的形成原因 ,也证明了近现代中日文学关系中交流的存在 ,而非仅是单向的影响。

Oda Takeo is an outstanding Japanese writer whose subject matter is about people's private life.His writing style is not the same as that of Osakiitio and Kawasakityotaro or that of Itosei,and it differs even more greatly from the style of Horitatuo.However,it is very similar to the style of Yu Dafu's novels.The apparent borrowing in his masterpiece of Beyond the City Wall ,from Yu Dafu's In the Past is apparent It helps explain how the novels of people's private life of Oda Takeo came into being,and proves the existing interactions between the Chinese and Japanese literature.
