India is one of the initiating nations of the World Bank and the largest receiver of accumulated amounts of the body’s assistance programmes. The global institution takes on a decisive role in upgrading India’s agriculture in terms of its apparently tilting towards the agricultural sector and the farming economy’s basic role. The article is an attempt to reveal the World Bank’s special role and prospects by identifying the performance of the unfolding WB programmes on various agricultural projects.
