'Taishan', 'Gaoli' and 'Liangwen' all are closely bound with the immortality concept held by emperors when they went up the Mount Tai to offer sacrifices to Heaven and Earth in ancient China. By the end of Han Dynasty, those images were gradually extended to embody the places where people would go after death. And the funerary objects, such as burial boat and lacquer shield, reflect the concept of 'serving the after-death life with objects in the present world'.
