摘要
This paper discusses the modern characteristics and the issues of consciousness in the Chinese Philosophy. After several generations’ efforts and advancement for almost one century, does the discussion on the Chinese Philosophy get into the view of “modernity”, and in which sense and to what extent? Or, does it dissociate itself from the changing history, culture and life? Is it just a kind of boasting and illusion practised in certain professions or academic circles? Did the research on history of Chinese philosophy and its theoretical construction which come from Feng Youlan, Mou Zongsan, etc. has modern significances as expected by themselves and their followers? In answering these questions the author points out the fallacy that western philosophers pay great attentions to knowledge while the Chinese philosophers to practice.
