The recorded earthquake response data from buildings can be used to facilitate necessary studies to improvecode for seismic design of building so as to reduce losses of life and property during damaging earthquakes.In this pa-per,the purpose to deploy the observing system for the response of buildings to earthquake is briefly discussed,andthe composition of this system and the principle of sensors are introduced in detail.In addition,as a typical applicationexample,observing system for the response of an anti—damage building to earthquake is introduced.
