Ernest Hemingway is usually regarded as a writer of ignoring female and a up-holder of the male dominance. This paper discusses how Hemingway paid his careful attention to female and the sexual inequality from the viewpoint of a female by analyzing the short novel Cat in the Rain; meanwhile, this paper also analyzes how Hemingway combined his literary theory of 'the principle of iceberg' with this theme of female perfectly.
