The report describes the development of an expert system using Microsoft Visual Basic 60 under Window 98 to design the wool fabric weaving process.After a discussion of the effects of each process parameter on the process design,the expert system builds a knowledge base utilizing a frame construction approach and achieves a decision mechanism using a combination of the regular logic and the fussy logic.The system provides a user-friendly interface and can design intelligently the wool fabric weaving process.
