This paper demonstrates the rapid development of commerce in Wuhan since the 3rd plenary session of the 11th Central Committee and the great growth in retailing volume,the number of commercial networks and the profit in 1998 compared with those in 1978.It also discusses the existing problems in commerce and its prospect.
