比较文学作为一门学科,最早出现在法国浪漫主义时期,它是直接受浪漫主义理论的影响,在文学史和文学评论的基础上发展起来的,对扩大文学视野、提高文学教学水平具有极大的促进作用,是高校的英美文学教学向素质教育发展的一种重要途径。

Comparative literature, as a subject, first appeared in romanticist period in France. It has developed under the influence of romanticist theories, on the basis of the history of literature and literary criticism. It has done much in enlarging the literary scope and improving literary level, so it is an effective way for the teaching of English and American literature to develop in the direction of quality - oriented education.
