Practical Thinking on Speeding up China's Democratic Process From the Perspective of Globalization

加入全球化进程,苏东剧变和市场化改革,为中国加快民主化进程带来新的历史机遇。以宪政精神和宪政思维为指导,把坚持党的领导、人民当家作主与依法治国有机的结合起来,是加快民主化进程的战略选择;积极推进政治体制改革,用党内民主推动人民民主发展,增强执政合法性,是加快民主化进程的现实道路;清除封建意识,培育公民社会,实现社会和谐发展,是民主政治建设的长期任务。近现代史昭示,中国的希望在于政治改革,全球化与民主化是走向现代化中国的必然选择,是民族复兴的必由之路。

China's entry into the globalization process, the upheavals of the former Soviet Union and East Europe, and China's market economy reforms have provided China with a new opportunity for its democratic process. Being guided by the constitutional spirit and thinking, combining organically the Party's leadership and the people's rulership and abiding by laws to govern the country are all the strategic choice for speeding up the democratic process. Actively promoting the political system reforms, nurturing a citizenship society, pushing forward the development of the people's democracy through the democracy inside the Party, enhancing the legality of administration are the realistic way for the process. Eliminating the feudal sense, nurturing a citizenship society and achieving the harmonious development of the society are a long-term undertaking for the construction of democratic politics. The modern history has revealed that the hope of China lies in the political reform, and that globalization and democratization are the inevitable choice and the only way out for the national renaissance.
