To measure or inspect the space surfaces and space holes for the mass production of car body, it is necessary to use specialized measuring tools. This paper features the work on design of measuring tools.The main focus is on the key element of measure,the determination of orientating datums,detection mode, process error and evaluation rule,ect. All these are related to the design of measuring tools.
