试论中国翻译学——兼与张南峰先生商榷

张南峰先生《特性与共性———论中国翻译学与翻译学的关系》一文中 (《中国翻译》2 0 0 0年第 2期 )提出以下观点 :(1)中国翻译学只是一种地区翻译学 ;(2 )中国翻译学只有应用翻译学 ,没有纯翻译学 ;(3)中国译界主流倡导建立“具有中国特色的翻译学”是大汉民族主义的产物。笔者认为张先生的这些观点并不符合我国翻译学建设的实践 ,因为 (1)中国翻译学包含的内容远远超出地区翻译学包含的内容 ;(2 )中国翻译学中既有应用翻译学也有纯翻译学 ;(3)中国译界主流对西方翻译理论没有一个全面的认识是历史因素或客观条件使然 ,并不是大汉民族主义的产物。本文还对我国翻译学探讨中存在的问题及其产生的原因 。

In his article “Chinese Translatology and its Specific Characteristics”, Chang Nam-fung put forward the following arguments;(1)Chinese translatology is area-restricted translation studies;(2)The advocate of establishing “Chinese translation studies”is a product of national prejudice; and (3)The Chinese translatology only has applied translation theories but lacks pure translation theories. This paper argues that the ideas in Chang's article are not justified in that they are not in agreement with the reality of Chinese translation studies. This author also discusses the problems existing in Chinese translation studies and the relevant reasons. At last, the problems that should be considered in introducing western translation studies are also dealt with.
