中世纪欧洲资本主义萌发于城市 ,城市是当时的经济、政治和文化的中心 ,新的政治思想在城市中形成。城市意识形态由市民人文主义和共和主义组成。人文主义的核心是自由和平等 ,并将功利主义引入世界观。共和主义的核心主张是政治独立和自治共和。城市意识形态是西方国家学说史上古代与近代之间的一个过渡环节 ,近代西方的人民主权思想、人制思想、共和制思想、公共权力思想等都与城市人文主义和共和主义有渊源关系。

In Middle Ages of Europe, the Capitalism germinates in cities, which is the heart of the economy, politics and culture, and new political thinking has formed. The city ideology consists of citizen humanism and republicanism. The key of the humanism is freedom and equality, it also introduces the utilitarian into the world outlook, and the republicanism centre is political independent and self governed republic.The city ideoolgy is the transition from ancient times to Modern in western nationalism history. The people sovereignty, representative system, republic institution and public authority idea, etc. are all originate from citizen humanism and republicanism.
