Advantages and Disadvantages in Establishing Law as a Major in Our University

信息社会的人才竞争对法学教育带来机遇也提出挑战。电子信息类理工科院校设置法学专业既有优势也有不足。对于我校而言 ,优势在于能顺应社会发展趋势、拓宽学科领域、加强与邮电企业的联系等 ,这是主导方面 ;不足在于办学经验不够、师资缺乏等。但我们可以采取向外“取经”,狠抓师资队伍建设 ,突出专业特色等切实措施 。

Personnel competition in this information society brings about opportunities as well as challenges to law education. There are advantages as well as disadvantages to electronics and information-oriented technical institutes establishing law as a speciality. As far as our institute is concerned, the advantage lies in the fact that it well responds to the social development tendency, widens subject fields, and consolidate our connection with postal and telecom enterprises. The disadvantages include our inexperience and shortage of qualified teachers. To turn the disadvantages into advantages, we may take such concrete measures as learning from others, strengthening teaching staff construction, and emphasizing major features.
