This article describes the constistution, industrial process, behaviour and actual effecet of the intumescent fire retardant coatings, which are manufactured from filmogen of prechloroethylene resin by adding carbon -- forming, catalyst dehydration and foaming agents. The influence of main constituents on the performance of fire retardant coating has been discussed here by using orthogonal test method.
