On Strengthening Social Archival Consciousness

档案作为一种特殊资源，在现代化建设中所起的凭证、依据和参考作用长期以来不为人们所重视，档案的价值和作用被埋没。增强社会档案意识，加强档案的管理、维护档案的完整与安全，充分发挥档案在社会主义现代化建设中的作用，对于继承和发扬中华民族的光荣传统，发展和繁荣我国的科学文化事业，认真贯彻执行《档案法》，避免各种违法行为具有十分重要的现实意义。

Archives are a special kind of resources, but their values and functions have long been neglected. Actually, strengthening social archival consciousness has such functions as (1) enhancing archival management level; (2) giving full play of archives in our economic construction;(3) helping inherit and develop our glorious tradition; (4) helping implement the Archival Law and reduce illegal activities, etc..
