This paper elaborates on the critical importance of setting up an efficient staff training mechanism and its practice in university library. The improvement on the quality of university library staff, on one hand, depends on the consistent practice in their individual work. On the other hand, it relies more on the library to carry out training programs regularly for its staff. A good overall training mechanism is not only a guarantee for establishing a learning-oriented library, but also a firm basis for its survival and sustainable development in the future.
