Thermomechanical Control Process (TMCP), which improves toughness and weldability with lower alloy addition compared with conventional normalized process has been widely applied to manufacturing of steel plates recently. Application of TMCP is a powerful countermeasure to meet increasing fracture safety requirements in low temperature service storage tanks.This paper introduces the characteristics of TMCP and properties of developed TMCP steel plates for LPG storage tanks to meet the recent high safety requirement.
