Trends in the Changes of U. S. Strategies toward China

当今美国对华战略是“合作加遏制”,合作是主要方面。未来较长时间内美国对华战略及中美关系如何转变,美国的战略专家有四种不同的答案。结合美国战略专家的看法,文章对美国对华战略走势做出两点评估:美国对华战略中的遏制成分将趋于增长,但是中美关系不会倒退到截然对抗的程度,因为促使中美两国合作的诸多因素依然存在。

Currently U.S. China strategy can be summarized as 'cooperation phis containment', with the former dominating over the latter. How will this affect future Sino-U.S. relations? The answers of U.S. strategists fall into four groups. With respect to the views of U.S. strategists, this article offers two judgments about trends in the changes of U.S. strategy toward China: although containment will increase, it is unlikely that overall Sino-U.S. relations will revert back to their former confrontational mode because of the existence of many factors favorable to Sino-U.S. cooperation.
