Cizhouyao Family Museum lies in Futian village in the oldstreet of Pengcheng. Its owners are an old couple, Weiqishanand Xie Fengfang, both of whom are 65-year-old localresidents of Pengcheng and descendants of pottery familiesIn 1998, the government of Fengfeng mining district startedto broaden Fuyang Street, destroying an old street of tenthousand square meters in Pengcheng and a hundred ofsteamed bread-shaped kilns. The old couple lingered on thedusty construction site by day and wept at home by night. Itwas then that they made up their mind to establish aCizhouyao family museum, hoping to preserve somethingvaluable for the later generation.Thus, the old couple went here and there with their cart tocollect old objects such as old oil lamps, aged candlesticksand all sorts of chinaware, etc. in addition, the old couplesuccessfully duplicated the whole set of traditional workingprocedure of Cizhou Kiln.In the reproduction workshop, there is a superb collection ofporcelain works of art, including human figures, animals,plants, bottles, pots, bowls, plates, kettles, carved flowersand rusty flowers of different workmanships, each of whichcontains a traditional culture, demonstrates a different styleand reveals the remaining graces of porcelain works of art ofCizhou kilns.
