中国人和英美人交际时 ,有时会语义不通 ,产生误会 ,或闹出笑话 ,其原因是对所使用语言的文化背景知识不了解。因此 ,学习外国语言必须同时学习该语的民族文化 ,这是时代提出的挑战。培养跨文化交际的现代人的需要 ,适应全新国际生活的需要 ,语言与文化血肉关系的需要 ,避免跨文化交际中产生障碍、冲突的需要 。

Why a Chinese person and a British or American person misunderstand or do not understand each other at all in their communication is that they do not know each other's cultural background knowledge.Therefore ,we must study its culture while learning a foreign language,which is the challenge made by the times,the requirement for training the modern men for intercultural communication,for fitting the entirely new international life,for avoiding obstacles and conflicts in intercultural communication,for the flesh blood relationship between language and culture and for the teachers and students in the circle of foreign language education.
