Tang Qi is one of the most important poets of the Nine Leaves School. His writing reveals the unique experiences on the people in North China through the feeling of a poet from South China, which shows the mixture of the classic cultures of the South and the North in China. The mixture in his works is reflected by the look of the North from the idea of the South, the formation of his lyric diction, and the interweaving of meditation, delusion and hope.
