The Influence of Song Lyrics on Traditional Chinese Operas

戏曲在形成过程中,受到了宋代曲子词的影响。宋代以前,歌舞相结合的表演形式为同处于萌芽状态的曲子词和戏曲所共有。到了宋代,曲子词成为雅俗共赏的歌唱艺术,曲子词的曲调在宋代杂剧和南戏的共时态横向交流中融入戏曲曲调,并对后来的戏曲产生了深刻的影响,曲子词的缠达、唱赚和诸宫调三种表演形式是戏曲发展的艺术渊源。

The traditional Chinese operas were greatly influenced by the Song Lyrics during their development. In the days before the Song Dynasty, operas and lyrics shared the same form of performance, which combined singing and dancing together. In the Song Dynasty, however, when lyrics were greatly welcomed by the people from different walks of life and mainly became an art of singing, their tunes were incorporated into those of the traditional Chinese operas, thus exerting great influence upon the development of the latter. As a result, the three major performing forms of lyrics can well be regarded as the peak of development for traditional Chinese operas.
