论委婉语的语义取象及文化认知

On the Semantic Image and Cultural Cognition of Euphemisms

从语义取象和文化认知的角度,对古今汉语、英语和日语中的委婉语进行比较,阐释了这些语言中的委婉语所具有的共同取象模式,以及掺入不同的文化和语言因素之后的取象差异,举示了不同文化背景下不同的语言意义反映,指出了委婉语表现形式上的各自民族特色,揭示了社会文化因子在语言中投影的深层影响。

A comparison is made, from the perspective of semantic image and cultural cognition, of the euphemisms between ancient and modern Chinese and some foreign languages, such as English and Japanese. Explanations are made on the similarities of semantic images of euphemisms in these languages and on the differences therein as a result of the involvement of different cultural and linguistic factors. Examples are cited to analyze the reflections of different linguistic meanings against different cultural background. Besides, the unique national characteristics of the forms of euphemisms are shown thereafter with discussions made on the projection of socio-cultural factors into languages.
