新文化运动中的救亡与启蒙之辨

Discussion on Salvation and Enlightenment in the New Cultural Movement

民族救亡是新文化运动的目的。只有廓清这个问题才能说明新文化运动从思想文化运动向政治斗争运动转变、从知识分子运动向群众运动转变、从追求个人解放向追求民族解放转变的问题。但是这种救亡不是旧式的救亡,它是要通过打倒中国旧文化、创建新文化来改造中国,实现民族救亡的目的。救亡与启蒙是互为条件的,我们应该肯定先辈的革命斗争。今天我们应该发扬五四精神,实现人的全面发展。

The new cultural movement was to aimed at the national salvation. Only after we comprehend it, are we able to understand such problems as the changes from the enlightenment campaign to the political struggle, from the intellectual movement to the masses' movement,from personal liberation to national liberation.But the salvation wasn't the old-type one. The salvation required to reform Chinese by means of overthrowing Chinese old culture and building China's new culture. The salvation and enlightenment were interdependent. We should confirm forerunners' revolutionary struggles.Today we must carry on the May 4th movement spirits,and accomplish complete development of a person.
