摘要 中西方文化中的隐喻对其思维方式、艺术创作、语言使用等的影响是极其广泛而深刻的 ,但由于中西方文化差异 ,中国英语学习者时常在英语隐喻理解过程中产生困惑。图式理论可以为英语隐喻理解架起一座桥梁。本文试图根据隐喻特点及某些相关的运作机制对英语隐喻理解程序进行多维度的分析 。 Chinese and western metaphors have strong impact on their way of thinking, creation of art and language use. However, Chinese learners of English are frequently puzzled at English metaphor because of cultural differences. Schemata theory can build up a bridge for understanding English metaphors. In this thesis, an analysis is made into the characteristics of the procedures of understanding English metaphors according to their characteristics and relevant mechanism of operation, aiming at promoting Chinese learners of English to improve their ability to understand and appreciate English metaphors.
