实行素质教育的根本是提高教师的素质。当前教育改革的核心问题便是建立一支具有很高觉悟的优秀的教师队伍。教师应对教育工作持有正确的思想观念,必须要有奉献教育事业的决心和毅力。作为一名英语教师,应对英语语言比较精通,而且在给学生授课时需提供必要的英语背景知识以便于学生更好地掌握所学知识内容。

Promoting the teachers' qualities is the base of carrying out the quality-oriented education among the students in China.To establish a group of qualified and excellent teachers with high consciousness is the focus of the present educational reform. An English teacher should hold correct ideas and views about education .He or she must have confidence and determination to devote himself to the education cause .An English teacher should have a good command of the English language and provide necessary background knowledge when giving English lectures.
