Asian Regional Cooperation in Asia and Sino—Japanese Relationship

亚洲区域合作是亚洲国家应对全球化大潮的必然要求。虽然亚洲区域合作起步比较晚,但是潜力大,发展速度快,呈现出良好的发展态势。2004年11月在老挝举行10+3领导人会议同意建立东亚共同体,决定在2005年年底召开首届东亚峰会,这意味着东亚合作进入全面推进的新阶段,势必对东亚乃至世界政治经济格局产生深远的影响。东亚共同体的目标能够顺利实现,首先需要东盟切实发挥先导作用,同时中国和日本是本地区的大国,中日两国采取什么样的政策也日显重要。

Asian regional cooperation is the natural outcome of the response of Asian countries confronted with the trend of globalization. Asian regional cooperation, though starting late, has a big potential and grows at a fast pace, showing a good momentum of growth. The 10+3 meeting of leaders held in November 2004 agreed to establish an East Asian Community, and decided to convene its first East Asian Summit in 2005. This means East Asian cooperation shall enter into a new phase of all-round push-forward, and exert a far-reaching impact on the political and economic scenario of East Asia and of the world. The successful realization of the goals set out by the East Asian Community requires the genuine playing of its pioneering role. Whatever policies China and Japan, being big countries of this region, are going to adopt shall matter a great deal.
