On Coleman’s Rational Choice Theory

理性选择理论是社会学的重要理论之一。科尔曼是公认的这一理论的权威人物。科尔曼在“理性人”假设和个人主义方法论的基础上, 认为个体行动者总是依据最大限度地获取效益的原则在不同的行动或事物之间进行有目的的选择。科尔曼理性选择理论将宏观和微观分析相结合, 提出了社会理论研究与发展的新方向。

Rational Choice Theory is an important theory in sociology with J S Coleman as the authority. Basing his theory on the hypothesis of “rational man” and the individualistic methodology, Coleman believes that individuals always make choices purposefully among different things or actions according to the principle of obtaining maximum interests. Coleman's Rational Choice Theory is a combination of macro-analysis and micro-analysis and points out a new orientation in the study and development of sociology.
