Ways to isolate plant genes and their progress were reviewed,and 4 ways were summarized, those were, cloning methods based on sequence,cloning methods based on gene function, map-based cloning and cloning methods based on differentially expressed gene (Subtractive hybridization, DNA tagging, Differential display and Gene microarrays,etc.).Inaddition, their characterizations and applicable fields were discussed.
