摘要
在具体情境中正确理解和得体运用语言进行有效交际的能力乃语用能力。缺乏语用能力正是外语学习者在跨文化交际中遭遇失败的重要原因。外语学习者只有了解本族语者的价值观和他们在日常生活中遵循的礼貌原则等文化因素 ,根据语境因素选择得体的语言形式 ,才能确保跨文化交际取得成功。在大学层次英语课教学上 ,教师要从全面增强学生的文化素养入手 ,灵活采用有效的方法向学生传播语言文化知识 。
Pragmatic competence is the effective communicative competence with which one can interpret the target language correctly and use it appropriately in specific situations Inter cultural communication breakdown results from the foreign language learner's being deficient in pragmatic competence To ensure success in inter cultural interaction,the learner must be familiar with the native speakers' cultural values and the Politeness Principle they abide by in daily life Besides,the learner must learn to infer the speaker's implied meaning from the context and consider contextual factors to choose appropriate language forms In college level English class,the teacher should provide the students with the knowledge of language and cultrure to develop their pragmatic competence,proceeding from comprehensive improvement of their cultural attainments and adopting flexible and the effective methods
