Esterification of fatty acids with ales, followed by sulfonation yielded an anionic surfactant, which was formulated to give low foamable wetting-levelling agent XP-1. XP-1 gave wetting ability better than that from similar domestic products and same wetting ability as FRG's TH, and when used for wool and silk processes, saved dyes and aux., improved color yields, decreased waste water pollutions and resulted in obvious economic and social profits.
